Family therapy can be extremely helpful in dealing with life transitions or concerns that impact the family as a whole. My role as family therapist is to understand each family member’s perspective and facilitate improved communication, insight and problem solving.
Often events take place in our lives that we know have altered the way that family members relate to each other, but communicating feelings comfortably and addressing the impacts of these events is challenging.
I have experience working with a variety of traditional and non-traditional families, including children being raised by single parents, same-sex parents or extended family members, as well as blended families, and those with adopted and foster children. Additionally, I have worked with families where adult children are living at home, there are medical or developmental issues that present specific challenges, or there are substance abuse issues that need to be addressed.
Feel free to contact me to discuss whether family therapy might be beneficial for your family at this time.
